This is my letter of the week! For this week the letter we had to do was T! It was super fun! I really enjoy the letter of the week because we have to do the work but then after we do the work we get to decorate a slide and then we have to put the words we did and what they are on it and we get to put pictures
Whetū Workshops Reflection
During Term 2 and 3 the Whetū students have had the opportunity to be involved in a range of different workshops.
The workshop that I have enjoyed participating in the most has been bean growing and chapter chat was probably my to favourites because bean growing it was a really cool experience and chapter chat I just really enjoy because this terms tasks are very creative!
The new learning that I have learnt is in bean growing because after we planted our beans we did some research on bean germination and how it works! Bean germination is basically how the bean grows! I have also learnt way more things in different workshops!
What I have most enjoyed about the workshops are probably getting to pick what you do and all the different cool options! I think one of the things I enjoy about them is knowing what I am going to do and knowing that I will enjoy it because I picked it! I like knowing what I am going to do and the way we do it I really like!
I am interested in learning more about animals and ants because I am really interested in how ant venom and thing like that work and what is in some of their venom that makes it so painful! I would also like to find out more about elephant because for some weird reason I am really interested in ants and elephants!
This is my pop art! For this times art, we did pop art! My group got to chose what they wanted to do so I chose to do eggs in a basket! It was super fun and we started off by drawing a plan in our art books of what we were going to do! Then we drew it onto a big piece of paper! After that, we coloured it in with pastel and then we put them up on the wall! It was super fun and I think I did good!
This is our inquiry! The big question was "should animals be kept in zoos" and we had to choose if we thought animals should be kept in zoos or not. I thought animals should not be kept in zoos because the reason one animal should be free and be able to live their own life with their own kind. Reson two many zoos are struggling financially and can not care for the animals properly. Reson three animals can become stressed from people banging on the glass and disturbing their peace. There are so many other reasons too. I found this really fun!
This week I chose to join the cooking workshop option!
On the first day, we went through the safety sheets and what to do and all the dangerous in the kitchen! We all so planned on how to make it and what veggies we were going to bring!
The second day we brought the veggies and peeled and chopped them! I brought a carrot that looked like it had been growing for thousands of years it was so big! It was hard to chop because it was so big!
The third day we put the veggies in the pot and cooked them for about three hours! Then we came back and ate it! It was super fun and yum!
The part I liked the most was eating the soup and cutting the veggies! I also liked doing the crossword we did if we had finished chopping our veggies!
It was so fun!
This is my Cross Country reflection for this year!
Cross Country Reflection 2020
This year I participated in the NPS Cross Country held at school on the Ngatea Domain. I ran in the 10 age group.
I am most proud of finishing because at one or two points I felt so tired I felt like giving up but I did not and I finished and now I am proud of myself!
I think my effort towards our training at school was good and I think I put in a great effort and most days and I think I did great!
I showed the Learning Power of Resilience by not giving up when I felt like I would topple over and never get back up (I was a little dramatic)! I think I showed resilience in that!
This weeks letter is H! I found the hardest thing to find or think was the one with two H's in it! I found the word Fishhooks! I really enjoy doing letter of the week and I think it is super fun! My sentence is probably my best one yet it is Hannah held hope and hopped with a hat into the fishhooks! By the last letter of the week, I want to have a sentence with all the letter to start the words! It was super fun!
This is my chapter chat for this week! I made Ross's diary! On the front of it, it says Ross and under that, it says do not open and on it, it has a drawing of bat pig, a drawing of bat but, some stars, a smiley face and Sarah's name with love hearts around it. Inside there is written by me pages and there are three of them but at the back, there is a colourful drawing of Sarah's name with love hears around it! I did it because it was something I thought I would enjoy it! It was super fun for me!
