Chapter Chat

This week for chapter chat I did 10 facts about gorillas! My title is, go go go go gorilla! I have three big facts in boxes and then little colourful clouds with small facts in them! Then in the middle, a have a circle with a drawing of a gorilla in it! And a really cool thing is that it opens up and there is this bit of just random writing about gorillas! IT was super fun doing this karawe chapter chat task!

Year 6 bike ride

 Yesterday I went on the year 6 bike ride! First, we just went through this frame bit then we went into the bush after that there was this really long tunnel that we went through and then we went to see a waterfall. We bike a tiny bit more then we hade lunch at a place with this old building with these things hanging from the roof. We ate a little then explored, we went to these old cart things and up the stairs, then we did some more biking but we got to a really narrow part that we had to walk our bikes for a little while after we rode all the way back to the cars got in and went to Mc Donalds! I got a frozen coke and a caramel Mc dip! I went in a car with Lily and Teana! It was super fun!                                                                                                             

Chapter Chat, Geurtude!

 This week I did the chapter chat task of drawing Gurtude the gorilla with flying goggles on! I think I did a SUPERNOVA because I drew Gurtude with the goggles and I made a title then I put three little drawings of Erik, Sid, and Grandma! I also put some facts about gorillas on for Gurtude! I made the drawing look like a photo because I drew a frame around the drawing! I drew a little plane because she is wearing flying goggles! I found it super fun and I can't wait till next weeks and I hope they save Gurtude in the book!  

Case Closed!!!

 This term Whetu had a crime scene! So we based some of our learning around the crime scene to try and solve it! Today we finally made the person confess! We had our two last suspects in to ask some questions about the crime scene! All the evidence pointed to Mrs Taaffe! Some of the evidence was she went to school on the day of the crime scene, she had fingerprints all over the scene, and she had her hair cut and coloured after she went to school! The things she stole were the HDMI cable thing and some milky way chocolates! She needed the HDMI thing because she had been having trouble chrome casting and she saw the chocolates and she took some! She did it on Sunday or Saturday the 10th or 11th! So that is how we solved are crime and got are badges! It was fun! 

Chapter Chat!

 This is probably my favourite chapter chat I have ever done! I really enjoyed making my animal cage but then I thought I could make it better so I thought I could add a tiny ice cream stand and some people and the little signs like zoos have! I even made a kid holding an ice cream! The only mistake I made was that I made the meerkats bigger than the people but that is ok! I really liked doing this and I thought it was so fun and can't wait till next chapter chat!

Letter of the week, E!

 This week for letter of the week the letter was e! I found e hard on some questions and easy on others! It was a fun letter because I had to think about some of the things I wrote down and some of the other I could just write down but then some I had to search up! Some people say it is too early for Christmas but I don't think so! I can't wait till next weeks and it was super fun like always!

Think like a detective, codes 4 and 5!

 I just finished codes four nd five so now I can get my coding badge! I have done all codes, code 1, code 2, code 3, code 4, and code 5! Code four says great job and code five says you are now a master coder! The hardest one was code 2 but after a got it it was easy! I found this super fun to do and hope to do more sometime! 

The Case Of Jack and Jill!

 There are these sheets called Grammer cop and there are different grammar things each time that you have to solve and this time we had to write he and him in the right places! I think I got them all right and did a good job I can't wait for next time! I don't know what we will do next time!

Think like a detective

 There are these codes around the classroom we can solve if we want and I have solved everyone so far to get my badge and the ls ones I need to solve are code 5 and code 6! Code 1 said do you want to solve a mystery, Code 2 said look carefully to uncover the clues and code 3 said this is no red herring. It was super fun and I can't wait to do them! 

Who Dunnit story

This is my story:

Mr Bob was an older man, he was short and chubby just like his grandfather. His hair was like grey stalks of grass which matched his long blue overalls and his red-checkered flannel shirt. His friend Jimmy Slop was the opposite of Mr Bob, he was a beanstalk that was at least 6 foot! He was young and had soft brown hair that swayed in the wind. Jimmy worked for Mr Bob and helped him feed his beloved cow Buttercup and all the pigs. He got paid 50c an hour, and Jimmy was happy with that since no other person would hire him with a record of shoplifting, but Mr Bob had hope in him so he would try his best to please him.

Mr Bob was down in the paddock feeding Buttercup in his field of Buttercups as Jimmy arrived. Jimmy came running out of the car and as he reached Mr Bob he was breathing hard as he had been in a rush. “Mr Bob have you heard the news?” Jimmy asked between breaths, “What news?” Asked Mr Bob in his old gruff voice as he leaned against the fence, “There is a man around here stealing cows, I thought you would like to know as soon as you can” Jimmy said as sitting down. Buttercup came over and licked him till she had a taste of sunblock and staggered back in surprise. “ Thanks for telling me but we have good security, the pigs are always awake all night and they will scream at anything that goes past!”, Jimmy laughed “all right Mr Bob I will see you tomorrow after I finish up here I have a concert to get to!”

Mr Bob grabbed his PJ’s and went to the shower, he really needed a warm steamy shower tonight after the pigs had dumped him in the mud and licked him so he was a muddy puddle!

RING RING RING! Mr Bob grabbed a towel raped himself up and grabbed his phone, “Hello Bob speaking” Said Mr Bob, “Hello this is Annie and I am part of the council and it is my job to ring all the farmers in this area to warn them about a guy who is going around stealing cows. We have people going around all around the area looking for this person but be careful and be on the lookout because I saw you and Buttercup in the paper and it looks like you love her Darley, so have a good day and bye.” Mr Bob replied with “ thank you and I have good security, bye!” After eight more phone calls, Mr Bob went to lay down in bed. After about five minutes lying in bed, Mr Bob decided he would not get to sleep and it was about two in the morning.

Mr Bob grabbed his dressing gown and went out the door down to Buttercups paddock, when Mr Bob got there he was surprised because Buttercup was not out in the paddock where she always sleeps. Mr Bob thought she must have just been a bit cold so he went to check her shed. In the shed, he saw a big hump and said good night to Buttercup the hump and walked back to the house.

After he new Buttercup was safe he slept through the whole night with no dreams at all. When he woke he got up to go feed Buttercup but when he got to the paddock again she must have been in her shed, Mr Bob walked to her shed and found a cow standing there, but this cow was not Buttercup this cow was a completely different cow. After a little of standing there staring at this new cow Mr Bob heard Jimmy pull up the driveway and hop off his car, “Jimmy” Mr Bob called in a wobbly voice, “what is it Mr Bob, is Buttercup sick should I call the vet?” Jimmy asked unsurely. Jimmy had never heard this tone of voice come from Mr Bob and it clicked just as Mr Bob said “GONE, she’s gone!” Mr Bob yelled, “ No she can’t be but the pigs the, the the”. “ She’s gone Jimmy and they gave me this stupid cow” Mr Bob was freaking out now.

Jimmy got Mr Bob inside and drinking a cup of coffee well he called the police. RING RING!

“ Hello Mary speaking,” said the lady on the phone “What are you calling about today?” “Hello my name is Jimmy and my friend Bob has had his cow Buttercup stolen” Mary seemed to think for a second, “OK I will send some cops down soon OK?”

“OK thank you bye” And Jimmy hung up. Jimmy went into the kitchen to make another phone call that Mr Bob did not know was about.

The cop’s arrived at last and calmed Mr Bob then went off to try and find Buttercup before dark. Mr Bob got up and went to sit in Butter Cups field for an hour or two. After two hours of crying, he got up and went to walk home but on his way back to the fence he found a note. The note said “If you want your silly cow back find another note at the Blue river” Mr Bob gasped he had a chance to get his Butter Cup back!

He arrived at the Blue river at eleven o’clock and he found a note that said “ your cow is somewhere big but unknown to most people” Mr Bob also noticed that there was an oil stain on the note and he knew where Butter Cup was!

He got to the factory at one in the morning and he snuck in. He found Butter Cup in a cage. Lucky the lock was easy to pick. He and Butter Cup were almost there he could see outside when a deep voice said: “where are you going with that cow?”

Jimmy was going to the factory, he could not let Mr Bob know that he had helped his cow be stolen because he knew the pigs would not snort at him.

The man had taken the Butter Cup again and now he was locked up too. He opened his eyes and as he did he saw his cell door open and Butter Cup standing there!

He and Butter Cup lived a happy life and Mr Bob had to fire Jimmy but they were still friends!

Grammar Cop!!!

 Most of the time we have a thing called Grammar cop were there are sheets around the classroom with grammar things we have to fix or fill in but not many people do them so the teachers put them online so more people would do them! This week I think it was mostly about commas and I think I did pretty good and I hope I got most of it right! I had lots of fun! I just made a few spelling mistakes! 

Blog Challenge 3

 For the blog challenge this week we had to research about Guy Fawkes! I found it super interesting and fun to research about! I found out so much! I did the background colourful because fireworks are colourful and I think it looks super cool and bright! I put as much information and stuff to make it as supernova as I could and I had so much fun like always!

Letter of the week!!!

 For this week the letter was C! I Found letter C very hard! I had to search up lots of things! It was still very fun, though! I put fireworks for the background because it was Guy Fawkes not too long ago! For the C the colour was gold so for my answers, I put them for good writing and for some a gold background! It was still very fun!

Athletics Reflection!!!

 Yesterday at school we had athletics! Athletics is when we have a few field events and some running races! The field events that my year group had to do the high jump, shotput and long jump! I did not do that well in the high jump, but I did pretty ok at shotput and long jump! For the running races, we had to do the 100-meter sprint and 200-meter sprint! For the 100-meter one I got into the finals and I think I came third, and in the 200-meter I also got to the finals but came third! I think for the learning powers I used were Resilience because I did not give up, Creativity for how I dressed up to cheer on my house, Integrity because not always a teacher was watching so we had to use Integrity, WE had to Respect our environment and pick up all the rubbish and maybe some Action! I found it fun! 

Letter of the week, R!!!

  This week for letter of the week the letter was R! R was an in the middle of easy and hard so it was a good amount of hard and easy! I have to pictures, a rock and a raindrop so since it is just after Halloween I put devil horns and a devil staff thing on the raindrop and a witch hat and broomstick on the rock! I had lots of fun doing letter of the week like always and I think I may do Christmas stuff next even know it's still a w\little bit away from Christmas! It was so fun doing R for letter of the week!

Blog Challenge!!!

 This week for our blog challenge we had a google drawing to fill out about a police officer thing!  There were lots of boxes with the thing in them you had to fill in about police officers! The first box said, career title - police officer, must have to enter the career - be at least 17 and so on, pay - 55k - 60k per year, what you with do in the job - enforce the law and rest criminals and so on, career opportunities - general duty constable and so on, training - you need a high grade in GED and some more high grade may be required, and a picture so I just put a picture of a police badge! I change the dull colours of the boxes to good bright colours! It was super fun! 

Fantastic Fingerprints

 For our crime scene, we were learning about doing fingerprints so we got a sheet and an ink pad thing and "printed" our fingerprints onto then! I had on my left hand, two loops, and three whorls! On my right hand, I had, one loop, one whorl and three arches! Loops are the most common then whorls and then arches are the most uncommon! I like that I had all of the different fingerprint tyes! Some people had double loops that mean something! I had one fingerprint that was the shape of a kiwi! I enjoy "printing" my fingerprints it was super fun!

Whetu Case 2020

 This term when we came back to school there was a crime! So we are helping solve the crime! Someone has come into the classroom and the door is cracked and there was blood on the door and door handle! There were footprints and milky ways chocolate bars all over the ground! There was a broken flower pot, a pink scrunchie, Mr Sings Licenes, a tipped over coffee cup and a blood tissue! First, we had to FREEZE, CONTROL and PRESERVE, then we got a sheet of paper and had to write some things down on it about us and about the crime scene thing, then we got told our groups and in my group was me, Carlee, Nathan, Lucian and Peyton, we had to make these logos and come up with a group name! Our group name was the Finger Print Finders! Now we are going to do some Finger Print Finding on some of the objects at the crime scene! It is super fun!

Last Chapter Chat of the term!

 This is my last chapter chat for the term and I re-made the front of the book! In the top left corner I have batbut and batpig and in the top right corner I wrote, Abby, who stood by always, and under that, I have a drawing of a guitar because he plays guitar! In the middle,I have the word WINK and Rob Harrell under that and a big group and people holding hands in a circle around the word wink because it's like all the people that stood by him through rough times! Down the left side, I wrote, Jimmy, the tough guy, and under that a love heart with Sarah's name in it! Then I have, Isacc, the friend that came back! and down the bottom I have the word meme over and over again to one the bottom and a winking eye next to a open eye! It was so fun doing this chapter chat!

Letter of the week!

 This week the letter fro letter of the week was M so I did my own name fro proper noun ad made it the biggest thing on there! I used a gif for my M but you can't see it moving o  here because I screenshot it! It moved the eyes up and down so the different sides of the M went up and down to! It was super fun and I put mango for my common noun so I have a giant mango on it to!

The mystery of the missing moji!!!

This week the maths mystery was called the mystery of the missing moji! It was resinibly easy and it was fun like always and the culprit was an angile emoji! I worked with Ashley this week and I think we work well because we did a fair amount of work and we got the answer on the same day we started! I cant wait till next maths one next term!

Literacy Investigation

 this week for the literacy investigation it was about astronauts and I worked with Mia! I feel like we are a good pair because we got it done in one day and we both did a fair amount of work each! Today's mystery was pretty easy compared to the others even the first one that was supposed to be super hard was quite easy! It was super fun and it was Hugo!

Roll a story!

 This is my roll a story and this is the first time I have done this so It was fun! First, we had to roll a digital dice to pick out the main character, the scene, and the problem! My main character was a genie, my scene was a mountain/hill and my problem was getting lost! It was good that I got a mountain/hill and getting lost because they fit great! It was super fun and I want to do more!

Maths Mystery!

 This week we also had a maths mystery in our things we had to do and I was having some trouble so I and Mia worked with each other for a little bit and today I finished the last clue! It was one of the hardest clues on the maths mystery because I did not understand it right but in the end, I got it! It was super fun and I hope we do more and U also like have the whoogle for this week and the must-dos and can-dos! The answer I got was Hanna Hapiata I hope I got it right! 

Chapter Chat!

 This week for chapter chat I did a drawing of Ross's eyesight going blurry! It was quite hard to draw it because you had to draw a place from the book and make it like there was a blurry eye looking at it! I did a bad eye eyesight bit and a good eye eyesight side to make it a supernova and I also put little bits of tissue paper to make it a double supernova! I found it super fun like always!

Literacy mystery!

 This week we have a maths mystery and a literacy mystery! The literacy mystery was called the mystery of the missy medal! When I found it hard and Ashley did we would help each other and if we did not have each other help I would still be stuck on it so thanks, Ashley! I found the literacy mystery super fun because we usually just have maths mystery so it was something new and fun! The answer was Claire White! 

Letter of the week, G

 This week for letter of the week the letter was g, I found g quite hard because there was not much g words or things in my head so I had to get the help of google fr some of the things! I needed a new theme for my slide this week so I choose an underwater scene because I just thought of it and I want to be a marine biologist! I found letter of the week super fun again like most other weeks! 

Maori challenge

This is my Maori challenge slides that I made! For this you had to choose a phrase and mine was ira, it has a macron above the a though. A few things you had to have on your slide was a video of you saying it or a voice recording of you say it right, when is best to use it and another thing was a animation or cartoon of someone/ something using that phrase! It was super fun!

Crystal painting!

 For my opt-in, I did crystal growing and we already made crystals on string and crystals you can eat and now we have painted crystals! First, we got a piece of black paper and rote are name on the back, then we saw Mrs Fraser make the mixture, she made it by putting a cup of water into a jug and then a cup of Epsom salt in and she mixed till it all dissolved then we poured it into little capsules and painted it on our paper and we got to paint whatever we wanted! Then we waited for it to dry! I found it super fun and some super fun experiments! Here are some pictures! 

Scarlet Ibis

 I'm reading a book called Scarlet Ibis and I find it super interesting but I still haven't finished it and I can't wait till I do because I feel like there are going to be some pretty intense and cool things along the way! The main character is Scarlet and she is named after the Scarlet Ibis I think! I  think this type of book is my type of book but my favourite book/book series is the wings of fire books! I still really enjoy the Scarlet Ibis one though! 

Letter of the week L!!!!!

 For this week the letter was L! It was hard to find a word that ends with L! The word I found was aboil and it means stirred up and things like that I think! The weirdest thing was probably that I have two tongues for lick and lick again! It was super fun and I think I did a super Nova!  

Crystal growing!!!!!!!!!!

 This opt-in I choose to do crystal growing! First, we had to get into groups of three and in my group, it was me, Teana and Tayla! We had to grab a pipe cleaner, a piece of string and an iceblock stick! Then you had to shape it in a shape your group wanted and we shaped ours as a spiral and twisted it around Teana's pinky finger! Then we put that aside and grabbed a cup and Mrs Fraser put extremely hot water in it and we put in the borax powder, then we put in the food colour we wanted in it! Then we put it up high and it grew crystals overnight! Now we are making sugar crystals! It is so fun! 

Chapter Chat!!!

 This is my chapter chat for this week! I drew Sarah with her skateboard and a branch beside here just for extra detail! Then I ripped out newspaper and stuck them on in strips! My favourite thing about her is probably the colours I used because I like the pastel blue and the pastel purple together! I think I did a supernova work! And it was super fun! I can't wait until next week!
